GE Aviation announces Keren Rambow as Regional General Manager for South Asia Pacific

December 13, 2017

Sydney, Australia, 14 December 2017 - GE Aviation has today announced the appointment of Keren Rambow as Regional General Manager, South Asia Pacific.

Based in North Sydney and effective immediately, Keren will be responsible for leading sales and operations in Australia and New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and the South Asia Pacific Islands. Keren will take over responsibility from Max York, who was recently appointed to CEO of GE Australia.

Keren joined GE in April 2016 as Aviation Sales Director, leading relationships with Qantas, Jetstar, Rex, Fiji Airways and other South Asia Pacific Island Airlines. Prior to this she founded and ran her own aerospace consulting business for 12 years, providing professional services to the Australian and United States Governments.

Previously, Keren was an officer in the Royal Australian Air Force for 15 years, where she was responsible for engineering design and logistics support of avionics, life support systems, automated test equipment and ordnance systems on F/A-18 aircraft. In 2001-2, she undertook an overseas exchange posting in the USA as a Quality Assurance Officer with US Marine Corps Fighter Attack Training Squadron 101.

“Moving from the military to the commercial airlines industry has been an exciting new challenge for me,” she said. “In the military, my focus was on aircraft software, as well as the weapons and life support systems. In the commercial sector, the focus has got to be on the reliability and efficiency of the engines, which are very important for any airline.

“I am excited to take on this new role and continue the good work that Max has led to date. We have built deep and longstanding relationships with airlines in this region. They are among the most innovative in the world, and I’m looking forward to further supporting them in their growth and digital transformation.”

Max York, CEO of GE Australia, added: “Keren has a terrific military and commercial background, and both the deep professional engineering skills and strong leadership capability to excel in this role. I congratulate her on her appointment and look forward to the continued leadership of GE Aviation serving our customers in the region.”

Keren is a graduate of the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra, Australia.  She holds a Bachelor of Science (Maths and Physics) degree and Honours degree in High Energy Astro-Physics from the University of New South Wales (ADFA), a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) Degree from University of Newcastle, Australia and an MBA (Technology) from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.
