April 2016 - GE has recently signed a turn-key contract with TAMEH POLSKA (joint venture of ArcelorMittal Group and TAURON Group) for the construction of a complete Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) installations for 5 boilers at ZW Nowa heat and power plant in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland. Once the project is completed, ZW Nowa heat and power plant will comply with new, more stringent European emission norms.
The FGD installation is based on GE’s own patented semi-dry NIDTM technology, which is one of the most advanced solutions currently available on the market and guarantees high efficiency in terms of emission reduction, both for gas desulphurisation and dust. In Poland GE successfully built similar installations in i.a. heat and power plants in Janikowo, Bydgoszcz and Poznań. The ZW Nowa installation with 5 NIDTM modules will treat 1,600,000 Nm3/h of flue gas and will be one of the biggest semi-dry FGD installations ever built in Europe. The SCR tail-end type installation will make it possible to meet more and more demanding regulations on NOx emission. Blast furnace gas from the Dąbrowa Górnicza Unit of ArcelorMittal Poland will be used for heating flue gas before it enters the SCR installation.
The contract value is approximately PLN 215 million.
