Fuse Powered By Geniuslink Recognized As (gold) Finalist At The 2017 Edison Awards

April 24, 2017

(New York) (April 21, 2017) - Fuse, powered by GENIUSLINK, was recognized as a Gold winner at the 2017 Edison Awards Gala in New York City.  The distinguished awards, inspired by Thomas Edison’s persistence and inventiveness, recognize innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the global economy.

“It is a tremendous honor for Fuse to receive this recognition on such a special night when GE’s Chairman Jeff Immelt is also receiving the prestigious Edison Achievement Award,” said Dyan Finkhousen, president and CEO of GENIUSLINK™, President and CEO of Fuse, and Director of Open Innovation and Advanced Manufacturing for GE. “The Fuse model disrupts product development by embedding crowdsourcing in the manufacturing process.  We’re changing the game for businesses who need greater speed to market, with better products, by harnessing a global network of experts and marrying it with small batch manufacturing. This is the future of work and we are honored to receive the Edison Award recognition.”

“It’s exciting to see companies like Fuse continuing Thomas Edison’s legacy of challenging conventional thinking,” said Frank Bonafilia, Edison Awards’ executive director.  “Edison Awards recognizes the game-changing products and services, and the teams that brought them to consumers.” Award winners will be announced April 20, 2017 at the Edison Awards Annual Gala, held in the historic Ballroom of the Capitale in New York City.

Fuse, launched by GE’s GENIUSLINK™ team in October 2016, is GE’s new manufacturing business model.  Designed to accelerate product and technology development, Fuse combines digital crowdsourcing with prototyping and small batch manufacturing in micro-factories.  These microfactories act as customer and supplier collaboration centers-bringing together customers, entrepreneurs, scientists, coders, engineers, students, corporations and more.  Through this forum, Fuse delivers greater speed, design options and greater market validation than traditional product development techniques.  Fuse is manufacturing at a digital industrial pace.
