LM6000-PD Aeroderivative Gas Turbines in Thailand
  • Project is GE’s First with Thailand’s Ratchaburi World Cogeneration Company Limited

BANGKOK-October 1, 2014-GE’s Distributed Power business (NYSE: GE) announced today that it has signed a 12-year multi-year agreement with Ratchaburi World Cogeneration Company, Limited (RWC) of Thailand. The services agreement provides planned maintenance for four of GE’s LM6000-PD aeroderivative gas turbine packages.

RWC has a contract to supply power to Thailand’s national grid for 25 years and to supply remaining electricity, approximately 10 percent of installed capacity, and steam to its direct users located in the Ratchaburi Industrial Estate. The LM6000-PD aeroderivative gas turbines will be used for combined cycle in the 224-megawatt (MW) power plant, which will generate electricity by using fuel gas. RWC will sell the steam produced to industrial users.

“This project is another example of how GE’s Distributed Power business is energizing nations, building industries and improving lives everywhere. Through the life cycle maintenance and performance program, RWC will be able to reduce the maintenance and fuel costs of its gas turbines through increased reliability and performance,” said Suwat Raveevonganothai, services sales manager, Thailand and Myanmar for GE Power & Water’s Distributed Power business. “RWC will be supported by GE’s engineering and technical teams for troubleshooting and field services support.”
