GE Oil & Gas Showcases Advanced Technologies for Efficiency and Productivity Leaps at ADIPEC 2014

November 20, 2014

ABU DHABI, UAE-November 10, 2014-GE Oil & Gas (NYSE: GE) will highlight its advanced technologies that drive significant leaps in energy sector efficiency and productivity at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) to be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, November 10-13, 2014.

Highlighting its commitment to bringing the newest technologies to the region, GE Oil & Gas will introduce its new NovaLT16 gas turbine that provides up to 37 percent mechanical efficiency, raising the standards of efficient and reliable oil and gas applications within the 10-20MW power range. Extremely flexible and with high operability across a wide range, the new gas turbine assures increased efficiency and reduced emissions, thus complementing the sustainability goals outlined by the region. NovaLT16 also features up to 99 percent availability and high levels of reliability with four years of continuous operation between maintenance cycles.

Another key facet of GE’s participation is the showcase of applications by its Well Performance Services (WPS) sub-business, covering artificial lift solutions including beam pumping systems, hydraulic pumping units, plunger lifts, gas lifts, progressive cavity systems, automation equipment, well optimization and services for the oil and gas sector.

In addition, GE Oil & Gas will present its new Customer Training Learning Management System. This new web-based interface is designed to help customers develop their technical and managerial skills. This solution allows potential students to browse training solutions, enroll in public courses or request a customized learning path. The system also features a tool to measure skills and identify required job-specific competencies. GE Oil & Gas customer training is evolving with generations and developing suitable solutions to partner with customers and build talent in the oil and gas market.

Sharing the company’s insights in innovation to drive operational efficiency, GE Oil & Gas President & CEO Lorenzo Simonelli is a keynote speaker at ADIPEC’s Executive Plenary Session on ‘Innovation and Leadership.’ Several other senior leaders of GE will also share details on the company’s newest technologies at various panel discussions being held at the GE Oil & Gas booth.

Rami Qasem, President & CEO of GE Oil & Gas for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, said: “With Abu Dhabi investing significantly in upgrading its energy facilities, ADIPEC serves as a definitive platform for GE Oil & Gas, which has been an integral partner of the region’s industry for nearly eight decades, to share our newest technologies that are focused on improving efficiency and productivity.”

He added: “In today’s rapidly evolving energy sector landscape, the key priority for the industry is to further strengthen operational excellence and promote sustainable growth. Our local presence and global scale are an ideal match to meet the requirements of our customers, complemented by a focus on localized innovation, knowledge sharing and talent development. We look forward to interacting with our partners and sharing with them the newest solutions that will support the region’s current focus on enhancing production capacity and developing new resources.”

GE Oil & Gas has a strong presence in the MENAT region and is focused on building its long-term partnerships through investments in localized manufacturing facilities and driving innovation. With 20 assembly and service facilities across the region, GE Oil & Gas is actively growing its footprint through strategic investments including the GE Oil & Gas Manufacturing & Technology Center in Jebel Ali, which will provide tailored training programs and also feature a dedicated repair center that will help improve the speed of service delivered by being closer to the customers. GE Oil & Gas’ manufacturing facility in Dammam, developed as part of GE’s US$1 billion investment commitment in the Kingdom, is another significant investment. ALGESCO, a dedicated turbomachinery service center in Algeria is the largest GE facility of its kind globally, while in Egypt, GE Oil & Gas and Petrojet Egypt celebrated the local manufacture of the 1000th API Certified Sucker Rod pumping unit.
